Wirrulnga MK16954 'Monochrome' | Aboriginal and Contemporary Art Exhibition Year: 2013Year: 2010 Size: 40 x 90cm acrylic on linen This painting shows Ninguras depiction of Wirrulnga, a rockhole site in a small rocky outcrop, east of the Kiwirrkurra community in the desert of Western Australia. Wirrulnga is a site which is associated with birth. It is here that the women of the Napaltjarri and Naparrula groups go to give birth. Men are not allowed at this site. While at Wirrulnga the women also make spun hair string with which to make
