Glory to God! The young women are wearing medieval looking robes, and the whole thing has kind of a lush, romantic history look to it. English painter Thomas Cooper Gotch (1854 1931) painted this in 1896, part of it being first published in The Yellow Book, an arts and literary magazine of the day.
